If you study to earn a diploma/certificate as a general practice paralegal or an associate’s degree in paralegal studies, you could learn how to conduct legal research, assist with contracts and prepare for litigation.

* Additional academy training or education may be required for law enforcement positions. Applicants to this program in the state of Texas will require additional training approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) upon graduation in order to seek the following positions: police officer, peace officer, sheriff's deputy, bailiff, and jailer. Paralegals are not lawyers and cannot practice law or give legal advice to consumers.
