Brightwood College is located at 1520 South Caton Avenue in Baltimore. You'll find 20 classrooms, a Library/Resource Center, and the Career Development department in the 40,000-square-foot brick building with additional classrooms at the expansion campus on Vero Road. Both sites offer a student lounge with vending machines and the Caton Avenue building includes an outdoor picnic area.
The College's Student Resource Center, located at Caton Avenue, offers a computer resource center and a library collection of reference books and other materials including dictionaries, encyclopedias, videotapes, magazines, periodicals, and textbooks. You will also have access to the Brightwood Virtual Library directly from the College's homepage by clicking the Virtual Library icon and entering your assigned password. The Virtual Library contains thousands of online books, magazines, and reference materials. You are still entitled to use the College's Virtual Library after graduation.
Students in the electrician program receive electrical training kits and use equipment such as electric phase boxes specifically designed for training in electric currents and will work in a "stick house" built to simulate new construction of commercial and residential buildings.
Students in the pharmacy technician program work in labs that are designed to simulate a real work environment furnished with laminar flow hoods, specimen scales, autoclaves, Rx scales, and various other pharmaceutical equipment.
For the medical assisting program, you will work in a lab that simulates a real work environment and be trained to use autoclaves, centrifuges, EKGs, and numerous other items found in a medical setting.
Labs for the HVAC/R programs contain air conditioners, different types of boilers, furnaces and heat pumps, ice machines, refrigerant-recovery units, commercial refrigeration units, and various other types of refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning equipment.
Brightwood College offers guidance services to help you with personal, financial, or educational problems you may have. If you require outside agency services, we can refer you to them. We also offer academic advising to help you as needed to reach your educational goals. If you would like a part-time job to help with your education costs while you attend classes, we can also assist you in that search. Then when you become an eligible graduate, we can provide employment assistance. We offer classes, workshops, and advising sessions that guide you through the job search process.
Our Baltimore campus is conveniently located on 1520 South Caton Avenue right off I-95. Public transportation serves the area, and there is ample street parking as well as parking on campus. Less than a mile from here is our extended campus at 3922 Vero Road.
As a graduate of Brightwood College, you are welcome to return for refresher courses at no cost, provided the classes are in the program from which you graduated and space is available in the class. This training is offered at the discretion of the Director of Education. Graduates must pay for any books and supplies used during the refresher training, along with any fees. No credits will be awarded for refresher courses.
