Nursing (Associate Degree)

Nursing Associate's Degree Program Description

Our nursing curriculum is designed to provide you with the professional knowledge and training to meet client health care needs in a variety of settings. Coursework includes instruction in the following:

  • Human behavior, motivation, emotions, cognition, and personality
  • Anatomy and physiology of the human body, including the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, nervous, and respiratory systems
  • Pharmacological principles, including drug classifications, required nursing assessments, and patient teaching requirements
  • Leadership and management skills as a provider of care, coordinator of care, and member of the profession

Nursing Career Avenues

Earning an associate's degree from our nursing program at Brightwood College can prepare you to seek entry-level employment as a registered nurse (after passing the NCLEX-RN licensing exam†) in positions such as these:

  • Ambulatory care nurse
  • Long term care/sub-acute care nurse
  • Medical office nurse
  • Rehab nurse
  • Acute care health care facility nurse

A student's eligibility may depend on his or her work experience, completion of high school (or its equivalent), not having a criminal record, meeting other licensure or certification requirements, or the program or School itself having appropriate accreditation or licensure.
