The Brightwood College San Diego campus is centrally located in Kearny Mesa, near Freeways 805 and 163, and in between Interstate 8 and Highway 52. Our facility occupies more than 53,407 square feet of classroom and office space, and is handicap accessible.
Each Brightwood College program is taught in specially built classrooms, labs, and computer/transcription rooms.
Our on-campus library and learning resource center contains a variety of journals, publications, and other resources for research and general studies. The library offers computer services and Internet access, and is open to accommodate students during most College hours.
History of Brightwood College in San Diego
Brightwood College, San Diego campus was founded in 1976 as Maric College of Medical Careers to provide quality education in response to the needs of those aspiring toward medical careers and to meet employment demands in allied health occupations. The operation was expanded in September 1984 to the San Marcos Campus, which later moved to Vista.
In 1994, the existing Maric Colleges began offering associate’s degree programs. In March 1999, Maric College of Medical Careers changed its name to Maric College and became Kaplan College in August 2008. The school became Brightwood College in February 2016.
